Great Photogenic walk on the coast of Martinique.
The beautiful village of Anse D’Arlet as seen from this mountain view on the photogenic walk from the bay of Grand Anse D’Arlet to Anse D’Arlet. The photogenic village of to Anse D’Arlet has a few lovely houses and a picturesque church. A handsome promenade follows the waterfront.
The walk takes 1 hour. There is a rainforest in the centre of Martinique. This rainforest doesn’t extend to the coastal arias. At the coast the vegetation is more moderate. The views from the cliffs are spectacular (see the pictures). A nice fact: The original inhabitants (the Caribs) called the island “Madinina” which means “island of Flowers”. (Wikipedia)
In our sailing holidays we combine this kind of walks with sailing :-), snorkelling and other ways we can think of to explore these beautiful islands. An example itinerary you can find in the program of this 2 weeks sailing holiday we did in april 2015 (Martinique-Grenada 14 nights).
